Let’s work together in the garden

Good work. Good food. Good company.
From April through October, Heartbeat hosts Community Garden Days where we come together to care for the gardens, learn practical skills, share a meal, and enjoy time outdoors with one another.
We welcome everyone—from experienced gardeners to those planting their very first seed. Join us for an hour or stay for the afternoon. All are welcome.
Garden Work
11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Work alongside other volunteers on seasonal garden projects such as planting, harvesting, weeding, mulching, composting, and caring for the gardens.
Community Meal
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
After our work is finished, we gather around the table to share food and conversation. Heartbeat provides a meal, often featuring ingredients from the garden, and participants are welcome to bring a dish to share.
Why We Gather
- To build healthy community through the shared work of growing food and sharing meals together.
- To teach and learn the skills of gardening, cooking, and stewardship.
- To help build a thriving local food economy.
- To deepen our connection to nature, place, and one another.
