Community Supported Apothecary
Members of Community Supported Apothecary invest in local growers and herbalists to both grow and craft preparations that empower local, herbal home healthcare and education. Members purchase a share at the onset of the season and receive a monthly care package. The herbs that we cannot grow ourselves will be purchased from organic and ethically wildcrafted sources. We hope to increase our homegrown herbs over time.
What’s in an Herb Share?
Herbal Goodies:
Each month members come to the farm and fill their basket with a minimum of 5 hand-crafted herbal preparations; may include teas, truffles, bath and body care, spritzers, cleaners, sachets, fresh and dried bundles and plant starts. Some preparations will only be available seasonally and in limited supply, and others will remain available at pick-up every month.
Education:
We include educational guides on product use and virtues. We will be at pick-up to share the stories, benefits, and guidelines for use of each preparation, and to answer your questions. In addition, share members get discounted registration fees for herbal classes and “craftshops” at Heartbeat, led by Nicole and Amy and other local herbalists. See “Herbcrafting” for the schedule.
How Does Pick-up Work?
The last Saturday of every month, members come to the farm to pick up their Herbal Care Package . There will be lots of options to choose from. Additional items are available for sale as well.
Safety Measures, Curbside Pick-up:
In our process of making the medicine and packaging them, we are washing our hands frequently, and wearing gloves when necessary. When you arrive, we will be hanging out, wearing masks.
Pick-up can happen in two ways:
- You can pull up into the gravel area and let us know your order. We will put the items into a paper bag for you and hand you the bag.
- You can bring your own basket. Get out of your car and pick out your items yourself. Wearing a mask and maintaining 6 ft physical distance.
We will be here at pick-up with you to share the stories of the preparations and to answer your questions.
Farm Visit:
We are open to a farm tour to show you the gardens if you like, while practicing physical distance. The gardens are looking gorgeous!!! And it deepens relationship with the plant allies to meet them on their turf.
Let’s stay in communication about what feels good and safe for you. We want to be thoughtful about you and your loved ones in how we do this.
Pick-up dates:
Saturdays 11-2PM – May 23, June 27, July 25, Aug 22, Sept 26, Oct 24
